Nicholas Smith joined the firm in 2023 as a law clerk and returned after taking the bar exam to begin his legal career. Nicholas has enthusiastically jumped right into all areas of the firm’s practice.

Nicholas graduated early from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Political Science, receiving Latin honors. Nicholas then attended the University of Dayton School of Law where he earned his J.D. in just 2 years. While in law school, Nicholas revived the long-dormant Second Amendment Association, served on the board of the UD Chapter of The Federalist Society, and was twice elected to the Student Bar Association.

Prior to his joining the Braum | Rudd team, Nicholas spent several years in and around the legal field. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Nicholas worked as a part-time paralegal for a local defense firm. Then, while in law school, he continued to expand his legal experience by interning in the legal division of a multi-national corporation, as well as externing under a local state trial court judge.

Outside of work, Nicholas likes to spend his time with his family and friends. Nicholas is an aspiring firearms collector and enjoys spending as much time at the range as he can. He also enjoys reading and walking his family’s dog.
